Positioning
Stevens Cooperative School (SCS) is a PreK-8 grade school with campuses in Jersey City and Hoboken, NJ. It runs as a cooperative, with parents and family members filling many of the school’s key roles alongside professional administrators and faculty. It’s a model that’s just as remarkable as the people that run it—a school that’s small by design but big on impact.
Visual Identity

The initial phase of our work focused on refining SCS's core messaging. We aimed to capture the essence of their unique mission: A collaborative space that fosters limitless potential.

Alongside this refined messaging, we developed a new visual identity, including logos for SCS’s 75th anniversary, athletics and summer camps. We then applied this brand-new messaging and visual identity to a full suite of admissions materials.

To celebrate their 75th anniversary and the associated campaign, we crafted a compelling case statement, which was awarded a Brilliance Award by InspirED School Marketers.

All these elements came together in our redesign of SCOOP, the School’s magazine. We incorporated the updated color palette, creative layouts, and engaging content into every issue. The new magazine felt just like SCS—full of energy, smarts, and a truly distinctive community.

The judges at the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) agreed with us, bestowing a Circle of Excellence award on SCOOP and saying how much they loved the “eye-catching design” and the “‘young vibe’ that feels appropriate for this institution.”

“Our partnership with Generation is what every organization hopes for when they sign with a creative agency. No matter the project, Generation goes above and beyond to meet all of our needs from the initial brainstorm to the final moments before publication. They are a true extension of our team and have helped redesign our School brand and materials in a way that feels fresh and modern while staying true to our history and traditions.”
