One student had recently declared a major in a field (ethnomusicology, maybe) that she hadn’t even known existed before she came to Wheaton, and the experience was so fresh, and the prospect of doing work in a field that she newly loved was so thrilling, that she found herself crying, astonished by her own good fortune and by the vision of a new world revealing itself to her.
