University of New Hampshire

Short list of things we loved about the University of New Hampshire: The student who, when talking about the kindness of the UNH community, said, “We don’t just hold doors open for each other—we aggressively hold doors open.” The dual major in ecogastronomy. The fact that Jennifer Lee, the writer and director of one of the most popular animated films of all time (Frozen) is an alumnus. Throwing Out the Fish—a fabulously eccentric ritual. The vision of professor Nancy Kinner, a nationally renowned expert in bioremediation, singing “Happy Trails” to graduates at commencement. The student who told us, “I found my voice here. This is where I became an activist.” The fact that this list could easily be much, much longer.
